Acting President of Sylhet Metropolitan BNP and former Panel Mayor of Sylhet City Corporation, Rezaul Hasan Qays Lodi said that expatriate Bangladeshis are playing a leading role in improving the welfare and quality of life of disabled people through cooperation. Even from abroad, they are always helping and supporting the poor, helpless, disabled and distressed people through the Rahmania Disability Welfare Foundation. Which is undoubtedly a great and commendable initiative.
He said that those who selflessly work for the service and welfare of disabled people are the true patriots. He called on the wealthy and all sections of the society, including expatriates, to come forward for the welfare of disabled people. He said the above words as the chief guest at a cash distribution program among disabled helpless people on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Adha, organized by the Rahmania Disability Welfare Foundation on Wednesday (June 4) afternoon at the southern field adjacent to Goabari Bazar in Pathantula of the city.
The event, chaired by the founding president of Rahmania Protibandhi Kalyan Foundation Sylhet, Alhaj Ataur Rahman Khan Shamsu, and conducted by General Secretary Al-Amin Ahmed Naeem, was addressed as special guests by the Secretary General and Executive Director of Green Disabled Foundation (GDF), Md. Bayzid Khan, and the joint convener of Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebakdal Sylhet Metropolitan, Aziz Khan Sajib.
Rokeya Begum, executive member of Rahmania Protibandhi Welfare Foundation, delivered the welcome speech. Almas Mia, president of Sebar Alo Protibandhi Foundation, delivered the speech.
Foundation members Shahriar Rahman Shishir, Mizanur Rahman Chami, Fazle Rabbi, Hussain Ahmed, Sylhet Social Workers President Rashed Ahmed, General Secretary Nadel Ahmed, members Niaz Arav, Rumki Akhter, Tanisa Akhter, Anika Akhter, etc. were present. The guests distributed cash among 100 disabled and helpless families at the event.
In his speech as the chief guest, Rezaul Hasan Kayes Lodi said that the contribution made by Ataur Rahman Khan Shamsu, President of Rahmania Protibandhi Kalyan Foundation, to the welfare of humanity despite being a disabled person, will be an example in the society.
